Modulus
|
The Modulus cementless system was devised by Dr. Francesco Benazzo and Dr. Flavio Ravasi in 2001.
The system was designed to offer a flexible solution for all those particular cases where the use of a standard prosthetic system causes limitations from a functional and surgical point of view. In the Modulus cementless system, the modular prosthetic approach aiming at managing the cephalic portion after positioning the stem, is associated with the conical fixation concept. This way, the system offers the opportunity to restore the correct biomechanics thanks to the selection flexibility of the modules to be implanted, with an optimal final implant stability for all cases suitable for conical fixation and that may go beyond normal femoral morphology, such as dysplasias, osteotomy outcomes and trauma outcomes. The number and the configuration of the components supplied intraoperatively, with the support of a simple and efficient instrument set, allow the operator to easily manage surgicalrelated limits, by dividing the femoral time in two parts, one dedicated to the choice of the stem and the other to the choice of the articular joint, while all the time having the possibility of verifying the optimal overall dimensions separately. |
