The MRS system was conceived and designed to provide an efficient alternative to traditional operations of total hip arthroplasty or hemi arthroplasty in young and active patients, in an initial phase of avascular necrosis and for osteoarticular pathologies affecting cartilage.

The aim is to offer these patients the advantage of metal-metal coupling of large diameter heads with lowered and thin cups, as well as the optimal support provided by modular stems.

This system allows a considerable bone saving, which is particularly useful in young and active patients who, because of their life expectancy, are likely to undergo further surgery. In this case, the conversion of the MRS in a first implant can be easily performed by resection of the femoral neck.
